Its branches are neatly trimmed, and its flowers bloom in gentle hues, giving it an air of docility and manageability.

However, the oleander holds a hidden power: every part of the plant (flowers, leaves, stems, roots) is poisonous, containing potent cardiac glycosides like oleandrin and neriin. Even a small ingestion can lead to severe, potentially fatal, poisoning.
